LJ's "restore from last draft" thing is a big ol' piece of crap sometimes. I just lost a really long entry, and it restored the word "I". Fucking nice. Too lazy to retype it, fucking bitch of a world.

11:11 am - Pondering... new journal?
|
I know it annoys the piss out of everyone when I do this, but I'm considering switching to a new journal. It's not that I just want a new name, but that I want to end this one and start fresh. This one's had a good run, just like the other 2 before it that are still sitting around filled with old memories.
I guess I just feel like I'm ready for a new chapter in the book of me. The last year has been pretty negative; and I've got through some major transformations over the last two. Right now I'm looking into the future and I have no huge plans, and it's nice to not feel the pressure of having some lofty goal to live up to. I'm just being me, taking things one day at a time, trying to become a better person, and trying to get my brain and body fully under my control. I think I deserve the symbolic closure of the old, opening of the new; I woke up today and felt ready for it.
Thoughts?

10:36 pm - Who wants mail???
|
Okay the important part-
If you want a post card from me from LA, please reply with your name & address here!
I'm actually buying stamps and planning ahead this trip; I will try to do the same when I go to Europe in May, so if you give your address here I can hopefully send you something from Germany or wherever also. All comments will be screened so no one else will see it but me.

I'm a happy little camper, I really hope he is the guest that day and doesn't cancel or anything, 'coz this so makes up for me being too po' for the concert.
I'm also getting Sonata to try, so perhaps I shall regain control over the sleep monsters; anyone who's taken it wanna share their experience with it?

1:08 pm - 5 vs. 19 Cents, stories to tell your grandchildren, and churches take on technology...
|
I waited in line to fill my car with gas at one of the 3 working pumps at the scary Citgo, because it was 14 cents cheaper than everywhere else. For all I know I filled my car with poison, but hey I have an extra buck-fifty-ish in my pocket. Anyone else remember the symbol for cents (the c with a line through it, I'd type one to illustrate but it doesn't seem to exist anymore, or at least I can't find it on my character map anywhere...)??? Why'd they get rid of that, did we just decided everything is too damn expensive to need it? If I'm talking about 14 cents, I'd rather just use the symbol than type out the word... and $0.14 seems, I dunno... excessive. Hey, I found it! ¢ Behold, the cent sign in all it's glory!!! ¢¢¢¢¢!
Things like this just make me feel old, like someday I'll be telling my grandchildren about the mysterious cent symbol and how people lived before cell phones. For all I know, cell phones will be extinct and that'll be even worse. I better start making up stories now about how hard life is... having to walk drive to and from school, uphill both ways in the snow. Yep. None of that fancy teleportin' you kids has now'days. No robots fetchin' our supper, we had ta get off the davenport and microwaves it our damn selves! Haha okay, too far, I know... But I do think I'll start calling my couch a davenport, someone has to carry on the tradition.
I drive by a church on my way home and their bulletin board reads, "Download your worries, go on-line with God". Now, at first this makes sense, down = lower so lower the load of your worries by sharing them with God... I don't know jack shit about computers, but wouldn't you need to UPload your worries to send them away? Downloading would just be getting more worries FROM God... Right? Maybe I'm wrong, but I think I'm right. Someone let me know, the dictionary isn't helping. Either way I can make this work for me: The lesson if I'm right- don't believe everything you learn from church, because people can make mistakes. The lesson if I'm wrong- churches shouldn't post confusing bulletins trying to be clever.
Church zero, Maggie one.

8:22 pm - Fair enough.
|
 | You scored as Jigsaw. You are Jigsaw. You dont enjoy killing people at all. You instead love to see how far people will go to live. However if it ends in a bloody death, you still sleep with a smile on your face. You are intelligent, and know how to outwit just about anyone. And that spells bad news for anyone who falls into your games of death and torture.

10:11 pm - Send him to the store to get some GUNS...
|
After extensive research (hahaha, trust me) I've decided just about every man looks better buffed up. I'm sorry. I'm sure someone could turn around and tell me all women would look better with bigger tits or something, but I don't care. I still say get thee to the gym. Beef it up boys, beef it up...
After less extensive research, I've decided Trent Reznor got rid of his beautiful hair so he wouldn't be mistaken for Snape's long lost brother.
Only is my new theme song. It makes me happy, and I can shake my hips to it.
I just made you up to hurt myself... and it worked... yes it did!
There is no fucking you, there is only ME.
Bitches. :D

10:19 am - The Dreaded V-Day
|
Happy Valentine's Day everyone!!!!
I know a lot of people hate this holiday (I'm usually one of them) but if you're feeling sad or alone or anything, just remember Valentine's isn't just about dating/marriage type love, but it can be about the spirit of love in general. So if you're feeling blue just remember there are people that love and care about you, and there are really good people all over the world doing kind things for one another, just for the sake of being kind. And, I LOVE YOU ALL!!!
Thank you very very much to Mouse iamnotanoctopus for my virtual rose! I lurves it to pieces! I wish I could give my whole friends list roses, but even if I don't count the journals of friends who never update or the ones of people who have multiple journals, it'd still be costing me about $20 to give one to everybody, and I am el broke-o. So, nobody gets one because it wouldn't be fair to everyone else... instead, imagine me giving you a great big hug right now, k? :)

|
I got this lovely icon delivered as a valentine's gift from valentinesecret, isn't it nice? I have no idea if anyone I personally know was behind it, or if it's just a random act of kindness, but either way, it was such a nice surprise and really made me happy. So THANK YOU, whoever you are!!!

I just want to take a second to say I love Grand View. Usually I'm annoyed with them for something or another, but right now I must sing praises.
I'm getting roundtrip plane tickets and 6 nights at the Sheraton Universal Hotel in Los Angeles for $157.
One fifty seven. That's it. There are only 5 girls going total; we are soooo camping out on the red carpet; OSCARS HERE I COME!!!

6:43 am - All mice beware, your reign of terror is over!
|
I am NOT crazy when little rustling noises wake me up in the middle of the night, I do in fact have a mouse in my room. I set a trap a while back and never caught anything, after a little over the week I set it off accidentally when I set something on the floor too hard, and never bothered to reset it.
I heard noises so I turned my TV on (for light) & muted it, and noticed a piece of cake had made its way out of my trash can and onto a box near the trash can, so I put it back in the trash. Then I sat still and waited patiently, and the little fuck darts from under my bed to under my desk, then back, then a few seconds later perches on top of the box... I'm looking right at the thing and it has the nerve to hop in my trash can and rummage around some more, but spooked and took off without any cake... I was going to try to smash it down into the trash can with my tissue box but it moved far too quickly... little beady-eyed demon. It will pay for all the times it's woken me up, oh it will pay dearly... 40 more minutes of sleep today lost to that damn mouse. I don't care if I have to line my room in traps, I'm gonna get it.
P.S. I still need concert buddies tonight...

8:20 pm - A Bottle of Tears
|
So a Fall Out Boy lyric that I particularly liked led me to a website- tearcatcher.com- which led to the discovery of something I now want. I want a tear bottle. It reminds me of Angelina and Billy Bob's blood viles, only less icky. A little googling revealed many sites sell them, but alas, they are all rather pricey. And now, to bed. I go to sleep earlier than almost all old people, sad.

Hooray for smallville_cons!
Now I have a pretty icon of Clark Kent, a la Tom Welling, crying. If only all of my other dreams were so easy to achieve, muahahaha!
EDIT: I've had a boring weekend so I've been updating even more than usual, sorry. I figured I'd just stick more onto the end of this entry rather than wasting another new one...
I <3 it when Keira Knightley's picture is on my AOL welcome screen; Yes, I *do* feel welcomed now.
Also, I like this description of Brokeback Mountain that I read on some Oscar site:
There are few cinematic experiences quite as powerful as spending two hours bathing in other people's misery. When done well, a feel-bad movie can be just as emotionally palate-cleansing as a feel-good one. Brokeback Mountain, an agonizing tale of ranch hands Heath Ledger and Jake Gyllenhaal blind sided by full-throttle love, is a testament to how deeply satisfying tragedy and heartbreak can be. In other words, it hurts so good.

Some other things I forgot to mention-
1. I want to go see When a Stranger Calls at midnight on Monday; it's free for me through school, does anyone wanna go with me? It'd only cost you $5, and if you want pop and popcorn another $5.
2. 30 Seconds to Mars is touring again; they will be in Minneapolis on Saturday April 8th. No clue how much it costs but tickets go on sale soon. Anyone up for that? I missed them last year, so I would really like to go. We can see if Jared Leto is still fat. :)
3. I hate to think I ruined my hair and spent like $70 for nothing, but this color is not working for me. I think I'm going to dye my hair darker brown sometime this month. Thoughts?
